Golden World (2021)
Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration
The Celebration:
The Golden World Celebration is a way for the Walt Disney company to celebrate 50 incredible, magical years of the Magic Kingdom and Walt Disney World Resort. This theme represents how the "world" is turning 50, the golden celebration, as well as using golden as a way to describe the "world". During the campaign, different sub-themes will be used, such as "Golden Dreams", or "Golden Adventures", in a similar fashion to how the Disney Side campaign works.
For this huge milestone, we are going all out. The celebration will last roughly from June, 2021, through December 2022. Throughout this whole celebration, different special events will take place. There will be specialty dining and hard-ticket events taking place at the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs area (For more information, visit each park/resort page), throughout the celebration, as well as specifically on October 1st, 2021.
One thing that always makes guests' days are WDW's "random acts of kindness", such as complimentary Fastpass+ reservations, cut-the-lines, or the common special moments where characters interact with young children once again.
Lastly, for the campaign, special offers will be made for pricing at the resorts and park tickets, so that more guests are able to experience the Golden World for themselves!
Transportation and Ticket Center (2016-2020)
Parking at Magic Kingdom's Transportation and Ticket Center regularly reaches capacity at peak times of the year. With increasing attendence levels and future reduction in EPCOT's Parking lot size on the horizon the Transportation and Ticket center is in need of a large expansion. The Current Capacity is slightly under 12,000 spaces. After the expansion the TTC will boast over 20,000 spaces. This expansion will happen over a number of years in a carefully constructed way as to not restrict the TTC capacity any more then necessary.
Phase 1 (2016)
The Walt Disney Wold Speedway will be demolished and the Mulan, Rapunzel, Ursula and Cruella lots will be doubled in size adding thousands of spaces to the parking lot.
Phase 2 (2017-2019)
In 2017 The Woody and Aladdin Lots Close and begin construction of the new Mickey and Friends parking structure in their place. Construction also begins of the brand new Magic Kingdom Toll Plaza closer to the parking lots and out of the way of World Drive.
In 2018 The new toll plaza opens. Seven Seas Drive becomes a one way westbound road. The east Villains lots begin to exit out of World drive to avoid cross traffic. The TTC begins a massive overhaul of the ticketing center and monorail stations to theme them to a new castle like neo-gothic style of architectur.
In 2019 the Mickey and Friends Parking structure will open with 5 levels and 7500 spaces.
Phase 3 (2019-2020)
In 2019 the Simba and Peter Pan lots close for the construction of the Seven Dwarfs Parking Stucture. The lot open a little over a year later with 4 levels and close to 4000 spaces. The TTC Expansion will bring over 20,000 spaces to the lot in time for the 50th anniversary celebration.

Mark VIII (8) Monorails (2019-2021)
The current Mark 6 monorails are aging very quickly. Overuse, higher down times and upgrade that they were not built for are all leading to the fact that they need to be replaced. There is on other problem as well and that is the beamway are already at their current capacity for weight. Once the automation upgrades are finished a new upgraded fleet of Monorail will be put into service. To overcome the failings of the Mark 6's these new monorail will be build with new lighter and stronger materials. They will feature a new walk through design that is more accommodating to strollers and ECVs as well as having a flat level loading platform. The new monorail will be automated, smoother and more efficient. An extra 50 feet of length will add extra capacity as well.
Capacities
Mark VI = 360 people
Mark VIII = 550 people
