Disney's Hollywood Studios/ Disney's Hollywood Adventure Parking lot Changes (2016-2018)
Disney's Hollywood Studio's parking lot has always been woefully undersized. The problem has been compounded by the fact that the parking lot is surrounded by protected wildlife conservation land. Starting in 2016 the problem will start to be solved with a 2 year long parking lot expansion that will double the capacity of the lot.
Phase 1 (2016)
Cast Parking temporally moves to EPCOT to free up that lot. The north east lot closes for construction of the Pixar Parking Structure. A new entrance is built off Osceola Parkway that connects to the main toll plaza. The Buena Vista Drive Entrance is closed to all traffic except buses.
Phase 2 (2017)
The Pixar Parking Structure opens with 3 levels and 3000 spaces. The southeast lot closes for construction of the Star Wars Parking Structure. Cast parking moves back to the renamed Donald parking lot.
Phase 3 (2018)
Star Wars Parking Stucture opens with 3 levels and 4000 spaces. Total guest lot capacity is approximately 8000 vehicles.
